The developers of WhatsApp, continuously bringing new features in its Beta version. And now with the latest update, they are featuring Granular storage management for Android.
Whatsapp has been always moving forward in terms of beta updates to users. But not all features will lead to the final application package. WhatsApp has recently added Picture in Picture mode video calling feature. Now the company is rolling out Granular storage management feature for Android which was available in iOS for a long period of time.
WhatsApp beta update v2.17.340 will allow users to see the total storage space taken up by a particular chat, and also get a detailed breakdown of that particular chat which shows the text messages, images, videos and documents shared in the group.
To access these you need to get Whatsapp beta version v2.17.340, Now head over to Settings > Data and storage usage > Storage usage menu to see all these details. You will get detailed information about number of text,photos, videos etc which is sent and received in the conversation.
This feature will be very useful in gathering data of chat memory and it is easy to clear hanging data in the conversation. This feature is now available as beta version and hasn’t rolled as stable version. You can download the latest version from Google Play Store, if you are a beta tester or else enroll for beta testing. Head to the link to enroll in to the official beta testing program.
