The world started to talk about 5G and smartphone brands are also started to unveil the 5G devices, and many brands like Realme also promised that it will launch its 5G enabled devices by the end of this year. Well, now one of the leading telecom operator of India, Airtel has announced the phase out of the old 3G network from the country.
Airtel will start the phasing out process from ‘The City Of Joy’ i.e. Kolkata and the move of ditching the 3G network will help the company to strengthen its 4G network, and this will also boost the availability of the current advanced network of the country and also offer high-speed to the users.
Having said that, Airtel has reframed the 900 MHz band spectrum which was used for the 3G and the same will now strengthen its 4G network. The Company is also implementing the state-of-the-art L900 technology in the 900 MHz band to complement its 4G services in the 2300 Mhz and 1800 Mhz bands. That said, users of the 3G network need to upgrade the SIM and device to the 4G and this would be notified by the network as well.
It is worth to mention that Airtel will continue the service of 2G for the users who are still using the feature phone.
