Amazon Announced New Fire HD 8 Tablets With Faster Chip And More

The very popular e-Commerce player Amazon is not limited to online retail but it also announces a variety of products in different segments. Well, now the company has announced the updated version of its Fire HD 8 tablet and the same is coming with three variants which are dubbed as Fire HD 8, 8 HD Plus, and 8 HD Kids Edition.

Having said that, all of them are coming with the same specifications but the special protective case makes the difference between each other. Specifications of Fire HD 8

As the name suggests, the device is coming with 8 inch of display and it has thick bezels across the screen and the biggest is inside, the company now bringing it with a faster chip, now the device is powered by a new quad core CPU which is clocked at 2.0 GHz and the company claims that the same will provide 30% faster performance than the predecessor. The vanilla variant is coming with 2GB of RAM along with 32GB and 64GB of internal storage while Plus variant offers a 3GB of RAM. Also, Plus variant is also coming with the wireless charging capability and that is happening for the first time in the portfolio of Amazon tablets.

Speaking about the camera department, the new Amazon Fire 8 HD tablet is coming with 2 megapixel front camera and 2 megapixel rear camera setup, the device is also offering dual speakers. The device runs on Amazon Fire OS with Android and the company claims that the device will offer upto 12 hours of battery life.

Pricing and availability

The vanilla variant is priced at $90 but there is a two for $160 bundle while the HD 8 Plus will available for $110 along with 6 months’ of Kindle Unlimited, and the HD 8 Kids Edition comes with a starting price of $140 bundled with a year of Amazon’s FreeTime parental control and kids’ content app. You can pre-order now and the same will be available from June 3.
