Dell Launches World's First 40-Inch Curved Wide-Screen Monitor

Along with the latest lineup of Dell laptops, the company has taken wraps off the world’s first 40-inch curved wide-screen 5K monitor and so on which are designed with the busy working professionals in mind, who tend to conduct presentations and group video calls.

Starting with the world’s first ultra-wide curved screen called, Dell UltraSharp 40 Curved WUHD Monitor comes with a model number – U4021QW. This 40-inch mammoth comes with a 5K resolution that results in 5,120 x 2,160 px. According to the company, this display panel covers 100% of the sRGB colour gamut and 98% of DCI-P3, meaning it can render up to 1.07 billion colours.

Regarding the I/O of the monitor, it supports Thunderbolt 3 ports that offers transfer speeds of up to 40Gbps. Furthermore, it can charge Windows laptops or MacBooks at a speed of 90W. In addition, there is a USB Type-C port that can charge your phone at 15W. Other ports include a full-size USB-A port and it besides it we have a slot for removable storage. The monitor also comes with a slot for you to plug in ethernet cable so as to ensure stable internet connectivity.

The Dell monitor supports KVM, meaning it allows you to connect multiple computers or smartphones to the monitor to take advantage of the large canvas. Both can be operated using a keyboard and a mouse simultaneously as well. This level of technology has also won it the CES 2021 Innovation award. In addition, the company has also launched a smaller version of the monitor with 38-inch IPS display and is calling it Dell UltraSharp 38 Curved USB-C Hub Monitor (U3821DW). It supports a resolution of  3,840 x 1,600 px. Although you will not get the Thunderbolt 3 port with it, the company has included the USB-C PD port along with two 9W speakers.

If you want to have a multi-monitor setup Dell has you covered there too, as there are two screen sizes to choose from, a 24-inch one and a 27-inch model. Both feature up to 90W PD over USB-C and an Ethernet port. The USB-C Hub Monitors bear the model number – (U2422HE/U2722DE). Dell range of monitors also includes one that features a 5MP pop-up camera, noise-cancelling mics and a dual 5W speaker setup. These will be available in either 24-inches, 27-inches or 32-inches. It features Windows Hello login and the Cortana digital assistant and a dedicated Microsoft Teams button to help you jump into the meetings at the last minute.

Finally, we have a touch monitor called Dell 4K Interactive Touch Monitors that comes in both 55-inches and 65-inches. These support up to 20-point touches, palm rejection and comes with two 20W speakers inbuilt. But things are not done as the company has also announced a few accessories which include a rechargeable wireless mouse (MS7421W) with up to 6 months of battery life and another wireless nouse-keyboard combo (KM7321W) that can last up to 36 months.
