Users of Facebook demanding for a dislike button for a long time, but the company is not responding to that demand. However, the company rolled out a feature called the Reactions in 2016 which allows you to show a various reaction on a post and in last year it expanded to the comments section. Well, now the social networking giant is giving an extension to this feature as the company starts testing a new button called Downvote.
A quick video of what the #FacebookDownvote button looks like for me. Coming up next, a video of putting it into action thanks to a willing volunteer. #smm #socialmedia #socialmediamarketing pic.twitter.com/LlJG8fVwdA

The Downvote feature of Facebook will allow you to flag inappropriate comments, you can able to see the Downvote button on Facebook on the comments which are posted on a public post of the Facebook page and it is not available on the group and friends posts. And you can easily downvote a comment on a public page post, by tapping on the Downvote button at the right next to the Reply button.
Once you have done, the comment will hide and, the user downvoting that comment is presented with three options – Offensive, Misleading and Off Topic. And that lets users send additional information to the Facebook about the downvoted comment. Facebook has officially confirmed that they are testing this feature and it is currently testing with only 5% of Android users in the US who have set their language as English.
And if you worry about the ranking of the post which gets the Downvote then don’t worry, as Facebook says that it will not affect the ranking. So, let’s wait for the official and wide roll out of the feature.
