The biggest reason of buying Google device is to get software and security updates, without any interruption. And Google also provide the update on regular basis, the company provides software update for the next two years and security update for the next three years. And the devices like Nexus 5X and Nexus 6P is said to receive their last security update in September 2018, but now Google extends the security update support.
According to the Mountain View company Google’s software support page, the date of guaranteed security updates is changed from September 2018 to November 2018. Moreover, the company has also changed the date of telephone and online support and now you will get support till November 2018.
If you are an owner of the Nexus 5X and Nexus 6P, then it is really great for you. But don’t be excited because the company hasn’t updated the date of Android version updates, which means you will not get any more software updates.
Speaking about the reason behind the extension of security update, it is not mentioned by the Mountain View company. Anyways, this is a welcome move by Google.
