Google officially confirmed the name of the unified platform as Wear OS 3 which is a fusion of Samsung’s Tizen OS and Wear OS. Google has already announced about a unified platform in collaboration with Samsung at its I/O event in May 2021. Google asserted in I/O event that the new version focuses on three key areas such as building a unified platform with Samsung, delivering a new and improved interface, offering timely updates to Google apps. The new version of OS is available for some previous generation smartwatches as a system update.
Google says that the users need to reset their watch to factory settings to experience the update. The list of devices that could get the update is limited and includes Mobvoi’s TicWatch Pro GPS, TicWatch Pro 3 LTE, TicWatch E3, and other TicWatch series. Fossil’s next-generation smartwatches are also added to the list. To wonder all these devices are powered by Snapdragon Wear 4100.
But to dismay, the Wear OS3 will be delay for some users such as the Samsung Galaxy Watch4 series, Pixel watches, and other smartwatches until the OS upgrade which is available next year. However, google confronts them by offering new features such as Gboard and the revamped Playstore.
Unfortunately, Wear OS 3 fans need to wait for the new update till the second half of 2022.just wait patiently for further updates regarding Wear OS 3
