The Mountain View company Google has announced new features for the Google Assistant and now the company strengthened its virtual assistant. In this article, I will explain all the new features which Google has implemented in the Google assistant.
New Voices
Google has added 6 new voices in the Google Assistant and the Voices are available in both male and female. Moreover, users can also assign different voices to respond to different family members and the company also said that the artist John Legend will also be included as the Google Assistant option later this year. And the new batch of voices will be available in the Google Home products, Smartphones, and more.
Having said that, John Legend will not give the answer to each and every question. Google used its new artificial intelligence AI technology ‘Wavenet’ to model Legend’s unique voice according to samples. Apart from this, the future updates to Assistant will be aimed at enabling more natural conversations. And the developers are working on “Continued Conversations” which will allow users ask to follow up questions without repeating the “Hey Google” or “OK Google”.
Routines
Back in March, Google made available the routine features in the Google Home app and it worked with smart home hardware. And the company promised that it will enable in the Assistant users to do multiple things at once. Well, now the Custom Routine rolling out, an extension of the Routine System. Pretty Please
Pretty Please, is Google’s another move to get an important position in the society, as the company already started its efforts to reduce the smartphone addiction with the introduction of Dashboard feature in the Android P beta. The Pretty Please command is an optional and when it is enabled users need to say please and the Assistant will respond in kind lines like “thanks for saying please,” or “what a nice way to ask me.” Well, in this way we can develop polite in the mindset of our little ones as they will not order to anyone and they say please, by making the habit of saying please to the Google Assistant.
Google Assistant Talks
Sundar Pichai, CEO of the company presented a cool demo for the Google Assistant, which shows that it talks to real people in automated voice calls. And the idea behind this feature in the Google Assistant is to make things easier to make appointments for people over the phone for a various situation such as booking seats at a restaurant, or set date for the haircut. The AI-powered voice from Google Assistant talks and voice sounds just like a human, and Google Duplex is the technology behind this.
Visual Cues In Google Assistant
The developers of the Google Assistant tweaks visual and it will allow users to order food from their favourite restaurants and keep track of the day and also share arrival times with other. Moreover, the Google Assistant will also integrate into the Google Maps and it will allow you to send text messages or play music without leaving the navigation screen.
Apart from these features, the Google’s virtual assistant will head to seven more countries in this year which includes Denmark, Mexico, Korea, Norway, Spain, Netherlands, and Sweden. Moreover, the Google Assistant supported Smart Displays from Lenovo, LG, and JBL will be available by later July, however, the pricing details are not announced.
