HP Unveils Laptops, Tablets and Wireless Earbuds at CES 2021

CES 2021 is officially underway and HP has taken wraps off a slew of products including laptops, tablets and Wireless Earbuds. The laptop belongs to the Elite and Envy lineup, and the tablets and earbuds belong to the Elite Series. Let us explore these products one by one and discover their specifications.

HP Envy 14

The latest entry to the lineup HP Envy 14 is powered by the latest 11th generation Core i5-1135G7 Intel CPUs and the graphics card options go up to NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1650 Ti Max-Q. It offers 16GB of DDR4 RAM and 256GB of SSD storage. The IPS display is of 14-inch in size and has a resolution of 1,920 x 1,200 pixels and, it supports multitouch navigation too.

Regarding the connectivity options, it features WiFi 6, Bluetooth 5.0 and the I/O ports include  Thunderbolt 4, Display port, two USB Type-A ports, one headphone mic combo, one AC Smart pin, and one HDMI 2.0 port. It features a physical shutter for webcam along with an intelligent AI Noise Removal feature. It comes with a 720p webcam, dual-array digital microphones for video calls and runs Windows 10 Home OS out of the box.

The company has partnered with Bang and Olufsen to set up dual speakers and there is a backlit keyboard. The system is backed by a 63.3 Watt-hour cell and is claimed to last a total of up to 16 hours. It is priced at $999 for the base model and will be available on the company’s official website later this month.

Beginning with the HP Elite Dragon G2 and HP Elite Dragonfly Max, these are convertible laptops and are powered by the latest 11th Gen Tiger Lake CPUs and Integrated GPUs from Intel. The Dragon and Dragonfly laptops have a 13.3-inch display and weigh under a kilogram. It is packed with 32GB of RAM. It includes 720p webcam with the shutter button and B&O speakers just like the Envy 14. It also features four wide-range microphones with AI-driven audio optimization and a 5-megapixel + IR web camera with manual shutter for all the meetings. It will be available in Sparkling Black or Dragonfly Blue colours.

Coming to the HP EliteBook x360 1030 G8 and the HP EliteBook x360 1040 G8 family, these are powered by either Core i5 or Core i7 U-Series CPUs from the 11th Generation of Intel coupled with the Intel Iris Xe GPU.  The HP EliteBook x360 1030 G8 features a 13.3-inch display and on the other hand, the HP EliteBook x360 1040 G8 gets a 14-inch display in either Full HD or UHD resolution. Regarding the storage, both get up to 32GB of RAM and up to 2TB of SSD storage. Both include the latest WiFI 6 and Bluetooth 5,0 connectivity standards.

Moving on, the HP Elite x2 G8 laptop and can be used with a stand at the back along with branded accessories and displays. It features a 13-inch touch display and when it comes to the question of what powers it, we have the same Core i3, i5, i7 1th Gen Intel CPUs and can be coupled with up to 16GB of RAM and 2TB of SSD storage, Besides the battery is of 47 Watt-hour capacity.

Finally, we have the  HP EliteBook 840 G8 Aero which is also available with 11th Gen Intel CPUs and comes with latest WiFi 6 and Bluetooth 5,0 standards. In addition to the 720p webcam with manual shutter, there is a forward-facing third mic outside the lid of the laptops, alongside top-firing speakers that also offer AI-based audio. This model is offered with up to 64GB of RAM and up to 2TB of storage.

In summary, HP has introduced the following under the Elite Series – HP Elite Dragonfly G2, HP Elite Dragonfly Max, HP EliteBook x360 1030 G8, and HP EliteBook x360 1040 G8 which will be available later this month followed by HP EliteBook 840 Aero G8 that will hit stores in March and finally HP Elite x2 G which will be available only by March. The pricing details of these models will be revealed at a later date.

HP Elite Folio tablet PC

The HP Elite Folio tablet PC features a pull-forward form factor that means it can be used both as a laptop and as a tablet. It is powered by the latest Qualcomm Snapdragon 8cx Gen 2 5G platform and supports WiFi 6 and 5G connectivity, thanks to the chipset. It comes with an HP Elite Slim Active Pen along with cradle for storage, It is offered with up to 16GB of RAM and 512GB of storage.

It features a 13.5-inch display with optional HP Sure View Reflect privacy panel. The company claims it can last up to 24.5 hours of video playback. The hardware that tags along include a 76-degree field of view webcam with built-in manual shutter for enhanced privacy,  dual-microphone array, and HD speakers tuned by B&O. Regarding the connectivity, it offers two USB Type-C ports, a 3.5mm audio jack, and a Nano-SIM slot. It will be available from February but the pricing details have not been announced yet. It will be offered in a single Shadow Black shade.

The earbuds weigh around 8 gram individually whereas the charging case measure 66 grams. The charging case has a USB Type-C port for charging and can be charged to 100% in under 2 hours. Coming to the audio, the driver size is 9.2mm and the earbuds support active noise cancellation At the moment, other details of the HP Elite Wireless Earbuds like pricing and availability are unknown.
