Back in May HTC unveiled their new device named as HTC U 11, which comes with a unique feature i.e. Edge Sense Technology. But as of now this feature is exclusive to HTC U 11 only, not everyone can afford to use this feature. Seems like HTC has something for those people.
According to latest report by Android Authority, HTC will launch a new premium mid-range device named as HTC U 11 Life later this year. It is the same device which was leaked last month with the codename HTC Ocean Life. Through this device HTC U 11 will loose it’s exclusivity of Edge Sense Technology. Those who don’t know what’s this technology, we can squeeze the bezels of the phone to perform various different tasks like opening certain apps, turning on/off flashlight, and taking screenshots. So it’s nice to see that HTC is bringing this cool feature to their non-flagship phones.
Now coming to other leaked features of this HTC U 11 Life, this one is said to sport a smaller 5.2” Full HD display as compared to 5.5” Quad HD display on it’s Premium variant i.e. HTC U 11. It is said to come with Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 630 processor, previous leak suggested a bit more powerful Snapdragon 660 processor. So we can’t say anything before any benchmarking result gets leak. The internal storage is said to be 32GB with expandable upto 2TB. It will have 16MP rear camera with PDAF (Phase Detect Auto Focus), and 16MP front camera with Panorama selfie. The phone will be IP67 water & dust resistance certification and USonic earphones with sensored active noise cancellation (So mostly no headphone jack here too).
There’s also a leaked render image of this HTC U 11 Life. As you can see from the image above, you will notice that it’s the same front design as what we have seen in HTC U 11. On the top there’s front camera and earpiece, below is the display and at the bottom the fingerprint sensor is situated. Volume rocker and power button are present at the right side. As this is a very basic rendered image, we can’t see those curvy edges which will be used for Edge Sense Technology.
The source has a confirmed news that this phone will be available through T-Mobile in USA. As of now we don’t know whether it will be available to other carriers and globally or not.
