Huawei today introduced 3 new devices in Berlin. These are the new MateBook series which according to the company will give a good tough competition to Apple 2016 Macbook series.
Specs: The Matebook X
With the Matebook X, Huawei has introduced a kind of Ultrabook. It is with 1.05 kg very light and the most compact notebook with 13.3 inch IPS display. It resolves 2160 × 1440 pixels. The display edge is only four mm thick. With 12.5 mm height, it is thinner according to Huawei and overall lighter than Apple’s MacBook Pro.
Although an Intel Core i5-7200U works at up to 3.5 GHz, the MateBook X comes with fanless cooling, which, according to Huawei, is inspired by technology and materials from space travel. “Fans take up space and make noise,” says Richard Yu, “The battery pack holds 41.4 Wh and should allow a run time of up to ten hours.
A highlight is the integrated Atmos sound system from Dolby, which should provide an immersive sound experience.
In the Power-Button you will find a fingerprint sensor, which should allow for a quick and fast login.The sensor places the prints in a separate security chip, known from the iPhone.
The Matebook X will come with a maximum of eight GB RAM and up to 256 GB SSD.
A new convertible but not a gaming matebook(X,E)
In addition to the MateBook X, Huawei introduced the MateBook E. This is a detachable with 12 inch panel that resolves 2160 × 1440 pixels. Together with the keyboard, a fairly convincing notebook experience is offered.
The MateBook E can be operated with a pen: the MatePen has more than 2,000 pressure stages and can be purchased for 69.99 euros.
The MateBook E is also available with a maximum of eight GB RAM or 256 GB SSD.
The MateBook E is equipped with the new USB-C.
MateBook D
The MateBook D is designed as a gaming notebook, It comes with a 15.6 inch display and dedicated graphics card with almost the same identical specs as MateBook X. The keyboard lighting, which brings the other two MateBooks, is missing here.
Both(X,D) use Intel HD 620 graphics by default, but you can make the jump to Nvidia’s GeForce 940MX.
if the Huawei MateBook would have a option for GTX 1050 then many gamers out there would have been interested to buy.
Pricing and Availability:
The Huawei MateBook X will start from $1450 and will go all the way upto $1800, whereas the Matebook E will be priced at around $1200 and the Matebook D will start from $1200 and will go upto $1500.
