Huawei has officially introduced the new Huawei Pocket 2 flip phone in the market of China and the device comes with a 50-megapixel Quad camera setup along with satellite communication and more. The newly announced Huawei Pocket 2 features a horizontal hinge along with dual circular modules for the rear cameras and the device also features a round cover display. The company has introduced the device with a new hinge built with aerospace-grade “rocket steel” materials and 2nd gen Kulun glass technology. The latest Huawei Pocket 2 also comes with an IPX8 water resistance rating.
Coming to the specifications, the primary screen of the device features a 6.94-inch LTPO OLED display along with 2690 x 1136 pixels resolution, 2200 nits of peak brightness, 420 PPI pixel density, 1 to 120Hz variable refresh rate, 1440Hz PWM dimming, 300Hz touch sampling rate, and a 21:9 aspect ratio. On the other hand, the back of the device sports the secondary display which features a 1.15-inch OLED screen along with a 296 PPI pixel density and 360 x 360 pixels resolution.
Under the hood, the latest Huawei Pocket 2 is powered by the Kirin 9000S mobile processor song with up to 12 GB of RAM on the board and 1TB of storage options. The device houses a 4,520 mAh battery with 66W wired charging and 40W wireless charging support. The device also supports 7.5W wireless reverse charging as well. Speaking about the software department, the device runs on HarmonyOS 4.0 out of the box.
Coming to the photography section, the Huawei Pocket 2 smartphone supports an XMAGE quad camera setup that is in the combination of a 50-megapixel primary sensor with OIS (Optical Image Stabilization), a 12-megapixel ultra-wide angle lens, an 8-megapixel telephoto shooter with OIS and 3x optical zoom, and an AI-powered 2-megapixel hyperspectral camera. The device also features a 10.7-megapixel front-facing camera.
The device supports dual-band WiFi, Bluetooth 5.2, USB Type C, and NFC support for connectivity. It also supports two-way satellite communication as well. The device also features a UV Sunscreen test mode.
Regarding the pricing and availability, Huawei Pocket 2 has a starting price of 7,499 Yuan and the first sale of the device will be on March 1. The device will be available only in the market of China at the moment of time.
