Huawei, the Chinese eletronic giant has been busy introducing new products into the market. Its new offering is the MateBook X that comes with a lot of interesting features. It retains the same design aesthetics as its Pro model, Huawei Matebook Pro. But it offers improved touchpad and slimmer build, shedding a few hundred grams. Specifications of Huawei MateBook X
Starting with the display, it features a 13-inch display with 3000 x 2000 pixels resolution along with a 3:2 aspect ratio. The display panel also covers 100% of the sRGB colour space and the peak brightness is set at 400 nits. The display has thin bezels around it and also supports touch-based interaction.
Moving to what’s under the hood, the MateBook X is powered by the Intel Core i5-10210U Processor or it comes with Core i7-10510U CPUs. These can be paired with either 8GB or 16GB of LPDDR3 RAM. The company is offering a single storage option of 512GB of PCIe NVMe SSD. All this is backed up by a 42Wh battery which can be charged via one of the two USB Type-C ports,
Focusing on the sundries, there is a hidden camera for video calls and four speakers. In addition, Huawei has put in a new type of touchpad that reminds us of Apple’s Force Touch touchpad found on its MacBooks. According to the company, it can recognize different pressure levels and the improved haptic feedback mimics the feel of pressing a real button.
Pricing and Availability
The Huawei MateBook X is priced at CNY 7,999 ($1,150) for the Core i5, 8GB/512GB variant and the Core i5, 16GB/512GB variant is priced at CNY 8,999 (~$1,300). If you opt for the top-end Intel Core i7 variant with 16/512GB configuration, you will have to shell out CNY 9,999 (~$1,450). The the machine is available in Emerald Green, Space Gray, Mystic Silver and Rose Gold colours. The laptops will start shipping from August 24th. As of now, there is no official word, about a global launch but we think it will be made available in one or two months I other international markets.
