The giant in the computer world, Intel has unveiled the all-new 11th generation Tiger Lake CPU during the Computex 2021 event held earlier today. These Tiger Lake chips are representing the U-series lower-voltage chips which help improve the battery efficiency of notebooks.
The company has announced Intel Core i7-1195G7 and Intel Core i5-1155G7 and these belong to the U-Series and are the most powerful in the range available from Intel. Speaking of the power required, it needs 12W to 28W requirements and features four cores and an eight-thread configuration. The GPU inside these chips are Intel Iris Xe integrated graphics.
The Core i7-1195G7 offers a base clock speed of 2.9GHz with a maximum boost of 5GHz. On the other hand, Core i5 has a base clock speed of 2.5GHz and a boost clock speed of 4.5GHz. Besides, the Core i7 CPU can also support Turbo Boost Max 3.0 technology using which the clock speed can be boosted. If we compare AMD Ryzen 7 5800U CPU and Intel Core i7-119G7 CPU the latter promises up to 178% faster performance when gaming and up to 93% better performance during video editing.
Intel has also announced a new M.2 module called 5G Solution 5000 that is certified to offer coverage across the world and supports US carriers such as AT&T and Spring. The company claims it can achieve a download speed of 4.7GB/s and an upload speed of 1.2GB/s. This speed is 5 times more than the Gigabit LTE technology from Intel. Intel’s 5G Solution 5000 modem was developed in partnership with MediaTek and Fibocom and will debut in laptops coming next year.
