Back in 2016, the Reliance Industry unveiled Jio with the free unlimited voice calls and free data, that shook the entire telecom industry of the country. The arrival of Jio failed popular networks to sustain in the industry and they took decisions such as merging with other networks and more. Well, now Reliance has announced a big decision which will make a big blow to all the Jio users.
The company has announced that it will start charging for every outgoing call to another mobile network, Jio users will be charged for every call made to the non-Jio number. The company will charge 6 paise per minute for outgoing calls, the company said the charge is for the Interconnect Usage Charge (IUC).
To charge from the users, Mukesh Ambani led company has announced new recharge vouchers between ₹10 and ₹100, the company promise to provide additional data for the price which it charges for the outgoing calls. Speaking about the vouchers, ₹10 voucher will offer 124 minutes and 1GB of free data, the voucher of ₹20 will offer 249 minutes and 2GB data, while the ₹50 voucher will offer 656 minutes and 5 GB of data, and the ₹100 voucher will provide 1,362 minutes and 10GB of data.
Having said that, Jio to Jio calls and Jio to landline calls are still free along with the incoming calls. Now we can expect the same set up by the other networks of the country as well.
