Leica, the very popular name in the photography world has launched its first self-branded smartphone and the device is called Leitz Phone 1. The company has introduced the smartphone in the market of Japan, as a SoftBank exclusive device.
It is worth mentioning that the specifications of the smartphone looks similar to the Sharp Aquos R6. The newly announced smartphone is also said to provide a “true Leica experience” down to the level of industrial design and user interface.
The brand new Leitz Phone 1 features Leica Red Dot and a magnetic circular lens cap and the device comes with the matte black glass cover on the “Leica Silver” metallic body.
Specifications of Leitz Phone 1
The first smartphone of the company features a 6.6-inch IGZO OLED display with a 2730 x 1260 pixels resolution along with an adaptive 240Hz refresh rate. The device is powered by the latest and greatest Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 chipset that is coupled with 12GB of RAM and 256GB of internal storage with support for expandable storage.
It’s camera is the highlighting element and the smartphone features a massive 1-inch camera sensor on the back with a 20-megapixel shooter with f/1.9 aperture and 19mm equivalent focal length. On the front side, the smartphone features a 12.6-megapixel selfie camera.
Leitz Phone 1 is running the Android 11 operating system out-of-the-box with the company’s own custom user interface and the device is coming with a 5,000mAh battery. The smartphone also features an in-display fingerprint scanner for the additional layer of security.
Pricing and availability
The Leitz Phone 1 is priced at 187,920 yen and the sale is available in the market of Japan. Users can able to pre-book the device from June 18 onwards and it will available in the late days of July.
