The Chinese smartphone company, Meizu has launched the Meizu 18 and 18 Pro in China. The Meizu 18 Series comes with the latest Qualcomm SoC with 5G connectivity, and 12GB of RAM. Let us check out the other specifications of Meizu 18 and 18 Pro in detail.
Meizu 18 Pro
It features a 6.7-inch E4 AMOLED display made by Samsung. It comes with 3200 x 1440 pixel resolution along with supports 120Hz refresh rate and a 240Hz touch sampling rate. The display is curved on all sides with a measure of 50-degrees on the left and right sides and 5-degrees towards the top and bottom.
It is powered by the latest Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 and is paired with the latest X60 5G modem. It comes with 8/12GB of LPDDR5 RAM and 128/256GB of UFS 3.1 storage. Meizu has decided to include the latest 3D ultrasonic fingerprint scanner from Qualcomm underneath the display for unlocking. It is backed by a 4,500 mAh battery that supports 40W wired charging and 10W reverse-wireless charging.
Coming to the optics, it dawns a quad-rear camera in the combination of 50MP Samsung GN1 as a primary sensor with f/1.9 lens, followed by a 32MP Sony IMX616 ultrawide sensor with f/2.2 aperture and it is capable of shooting pictures with a 130-degree field of view. The sensor is also able to double up as a macro sensor by focusing from 2cm for macro shots. The third camera of the bunch has an 8MP resolution and zooms in up to 3x times and this is followed by a 3D ToF sensor. For the selfies, Meizu has included a 44MP sensor as well.
Meizu 18
It features a 6.2-inch AMOLED display with a resolution of 3200×1440 pixels and comes with a 120Hz refresh rate in the combination with a 240Hz sampling rate. Like its Pro variant, Meizu 18 also has a quad-curved display and is powered by Snapdragon 888. It also comes with 8/12GB of RAM and UFS 3.1 storage.
But the Meizu 18 diverts from 18 Pro in terms of camera arrangement as it has a primary camera with a 64MP IMX682 sensor from Sony that has an aperture of f/1.6, followed by a 16MP ultrawide-angle camera and an 8MP telephoto unit capable of delivering 3x zoom. The front punch-hole houses a 20MP camera with an f/2.2 aperture.
The smartphone is powered by a 4,000mAh battery that supports 36W charging but misses out on the wireless charging capability. Both Meizu 18 and 18 Pro will not have charger outside the box but the company promises to gift you a charger brick for free if you trade two old ones.
Pricing and Availability
Meizu 18 Pro will be priced at CNY 4,999 for the 8/128GB, CNY 5,499 for 8/256GB and CNY 5,999 for 12/256GB memory configurations. It will be offered in White, Blue and Grey colours. The Meizu 18 will be available in 8/128GB, 8/256GB and 12/256GB configurations at a price tag of CNY 4,399, CNY 4,699 and CNY 4,999, respectively. It will be available in White, Blue and Purple colours. Both smartphones are already available for pre-order and the sale will start from March 8.
