The Chinese electronics giant Xiaomi has unveiled the Mi 8 Pro at an event in China, but the device is actually Mi 8 Explorer Edition but the new device is coming with some differences. Specification of Mi 8 Pro
The Mi 8 sports 6.21 inch FHD+ Always-On AMOLED display with 18.7:9 aspect ratio and has 2248 x 1080 pixels resolution, along with HDR, 600 nits brightness and 402 ppi pixel density. Moreover, there’s a notch on the top of the display. The smartphone is powered by 2.8 GHz octa-core Snapdragon 845 processor and paired with 6 and 8 GB of RAM along with Adreno 630 GPU for the graphical task. In terms of storage, the device is coming with 128 of onboard storage.
Moving to the camera department, the device has dual camera setup at the back and that’s in the combination of 12 megapixel (f/1.8 aperture, wide-angle lens, 4-axis OIS) + 12 megapixel (f/2.4 aperture, telephoto lens) with Dual Pixel Auto-focus, AI Scene Detection, AI Portrait Mode, AI Beauty Mode and LED flash. The device also features 20 megapixel front facing camera with AI Beauty Mode, AI Scene Detection, AI Portrait Mode, HDR. Talking about the connectivity, the device supports Dual 4G VoLTE, Dual-frequency GPS, Bluetooth 5.0, Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac, NFC, and USB Type-C.
For security, the device is coming with Pressure-sensitive in-display fingerprint scanner, and the company claims that its 29% faster and 8.8% more accurate, along with the Infrared Face Unlock. The device runs on Android Oreo 8.1 which is based on MIUI, the whole device is backed on 3,000 mAh battery with Quick Charge 4+.
Pricing and availability of Mi 8 Pro:
The 6 GB RAM variant is priced at ¥3199 (approx. ₹34,000), and the 8 GB RAM variant is priced at ¥3599 (approx. ₹₹38,251). The device will be available in China from September 21 but there is no information about the availability of the device in other parts of the globe.
