OMNIVISION has officially introduced the latest OV50X 1 inch sensor, and the same comes with a 50MP CMOS image sensor. It features a 1.6-micron pixel size within a 1-inch optical format, and the sensor is also optimized for high-end devices, and facilitates 4-cell binning, that can offer 12.5MP output at 180 fps, and 60 fps with three-channel HDR. The sensor also supports 8K video capture, dual analog gain (DAG) HDR, and on-sensor crop zoom.
It also supports TheiaCel technology that enables high dynamic range without multi-exposure along with 100% quad phase detection (QPD) coverage and the sensor also supports PureCel®Plus‑S stacked-die technology that will be improving low-light performance.
The mass production of the sensor is scheduled for Q3 2025 and let’s wait for the availability of this sensor.
