OnePlus unveils OnePlus 5T with immersive display

After tons of leaks and rumours, OnePlus has unveiled its new flagship called OnePlus 5T. The device is coming with bulky updates such as a large immersive display, Improved Dual camera, and aggressive performance.

Starting from the company’s  journey, Carl Pei took the audience to a great start. He also explained the technological barriers and Support he received during his career and what they had learned from the Oneplus 2 and Oneplus X them during the blooming period of the company. Brian Yoon, the Company’s head of User experience also spoked the Oxygen OS which stays near to Stock Android. Brian also stated about Android being a great Operating system, it should be improvised in terms of Performance, battery time and Customization.

 

 

OnePlus 5 launched a few months ago, took the company’s portfolio into next stage with best in class performance, build quality and most anticipated Dual camera setup. The ‘T‘ line is launched after 6 months after the Flagship has proved its existence in the market. Let’s get into the Spec sheet of the new OnePlus 5T without wasting any time.

The OnePlus 5T looks more ergonomic and premium. Nothing to complain about OnePlus build quality, They give the best Quality Smartphone in the segment. The OnePlus 5T holds the nearly same dimension of the OnePlus 5 with a bit extra in height and width due to the Display Diagonal which is expanded. Yes, the OnePlus 5T coming with smaller bezels.

The OnePlus 5T is coming with 6.01-inch AMOLED Display which comes with the trendy 18:9 Aspect Ratio for better viewing comfort, with 2.5D curved display and also protected with Gorilla Glass 5, it also has 2160 x 1080 pixels resolution. The expansion of the Display Diagonal moved the Fingerprint Sensor to the rear. OnePlus also included Facial Recognition technology to only unlock smartphones. OnePlus Claims its Accuracy will be  99%  as it uses 100 points in users face and it cannot be used while payment or other transfer functions

It is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 SoC coupled with two memory options such as 6 GB RAM with 64 GB of Internal Storage, and 8 GB of RAM with 128 GB of Internal storage, along with Adreno 540 for the graphical department. The 6/8 GB RAM is more than enough for a normal consumer, but Oneplus claims that the Flagship is optimized to load Apps and Games, even more, faster than existing Smartphones in the Market.

Moving to the camera section, the device has Dual Camera setup which is optimized to give best ever Low Light shots and Portrait clicks. The company also showcased some shots taken on the Flagship at the event. In my opinion, the shots were pretty impressive.

The OnePlus 5T dual rear setup holds a 16-megapixel (Sony IMX398 with f/1.7 aperture) + 20-megapixel (Sony IMX376K with f/1.7 aperture) with Portrait Mode, Video Stabilization and dual-tone LED flash. Which has 27.22mm focal length and undoubtedly the device can give the best ever low light photos along with better video stabilization. As far as the Front shooter, it holds a number of 16-megapixel Sony IMX371 with f/2.0 aperture.

The device runs OxygenOS based on Android 7.1.1 Nougat, the company has said that it will roll out Android Oreo-based Open Beta update to the 5T in late December. The device also offers Face Unlock, Parallel Apps, aptX and aptX HD support, Dirac HD Sound. In terms of connectivity, the device supports dual Nano SIM with 4G connectivity, Bluetooth 5.0, NFC, Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac, USB Type-C, 3.5 mm headphone jack.

It comes with a 3,300 mAh battery with Dash Charge and the company claims with a Half an hour charge, the device will give full day usage seamlessly. Let us wait and get more about the battery optimization. The Oneplus comes with Notif slider with three modes to keep according to the need. Along with this OnePlus introduces  Gaming DND, duplicate apps for social media accounts, The most expected feature is a 3.5mm Headphone jack provided which is missing in some of the Flagship devices nowadays. OnePlus 5T Pricing and Availability:

 

Earlier rumours defined that the device is going to have the same pricing of the predecessor and the pricing of the device is announced with an impressive note, Carl said the devices will not touch down middle agents and it is guaranteed to reach customer directly without a price surge as before. The OnePlus 5T is an Amazon Exclusive and priced at Rs 32,999 for 6/64 GB variant and Rs 37,999 for the larger  (8/128 GB) variant. If this is said to be the final pricing, OnePlus fans will jump to the sky.
