The popular chipset maker Qualcomm has unveiled its new and third 5G modem and it is dubbed as Qualcomm X50 5G. The new modem is coming with lots of improvements and the same is also capable to offer really high-speed internet connectivity. Everything about Qualcomm X60 5G modem
Qualcomm’s latest modem is the first 5G modem built on a 5nm node and the same is capable to offer up to 7.5 Gbps download as well as 3Gbps upload speeds. The latest product also supports both the mmWave and Sub-6 versions of the 5G connectivity. Similar to the X55, the latest Qualcomm X60 backed on both TDD and FDD networks and this will enable truly global 5G support. Furthermore, the modem also supports 4G LTE as well as legacy 3G and 2G bands. Interesting, isn’t?
That’s not all, the latest modem is also coming with the new dynamic spectrum sharing (DSS) and that will allow the carriers to repurpose LTE bands for higher network speeds as well as to accelerate the 5G deployment. It is loaded with the new feature called Voice over new radio (VoNR) and this will enable a standalone high-quality voice service over 5G.
Apart from that, the company has added a new chip as well and that comes with the updated QTM535 mmWave module, this setup is capable to enable a smaller footprint and the same will allow for slimmer phone profiles.
Regarding the availability, the latest 5G modem is expected to arrive in the devices which will unveil in the early days of 2021.
