With the COVID-19 pandemic, Realme launches have taken a backseat in India, but things are going pretty well for them in China at least. The company has launched Realme X50M 5G with 5G on board. Realme X50M seems to be a watered-down version of the X50 Pro which was launched in India. It is only a matter of time before the X50M makes its way to India in with slight alterations and probably a different name.
The Realme X50M has a 6.57-inch IPS LCD panel with 20:9 aspect ratio. In addition, the screen refresh rate has been bumped up to 120 Hz. It is powered by Snapdragon 765 which supports 5G as well. It is available in two variants – 6GB/128GB and 8GB/128GB.
In terms of camera, the quad-rear setup starts with 48MP as the primary sensor with f/1.8 aperture. The secondary camera has an 8MP sensor with f/2.3 aperture. The other two cameras are of 2 MP resolution with f/2.4 aperture for macro mode and depth sensing. The punch-hole in the left side houses a dual-selfie camera setup. There is a 16 MP primary camera with f/2.0 aperture and a 2 MP secondary camera for the bokeh effect.
The phone comes with Android 10 out of the box and Realme UI on top. Realme X50M 5G is powered by a 4,200 mAh battery and supports proprietary 30W Dart charging. The company claims the improved charging can top up the phone up to 70% in 30 minutes. There is a dual sim slot that can support nano-sims. The phone weighs 194 grams and is 8.9 mm thick. Connectivity options include WiFi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac, Bluetooth 5, NFC, USB Type-C and GPS.
Pricing and availability
The phone comes in two colours – Galaxy White and Starry Blue. The pricing starts at 1,999 Yuan (Rs. 21,500) for the 6GB RAM model whereas the 8GB Ram variant is priced at 2,299 Yuan (Rs. 24,500).
