During the year 2020, the foldable caught eyes like never before. With rumours of multiple companies from Oppo to Xiaomi working on one to Samsung improving the Galaxy Z Fold 2 design, we had a lot going on this year. Now we have another interesting concept that is, a rollable phone from LG.
The rollable phone from LG was spotted on the database of a South Korean carrier, Intranet. It is registered under the internal database of the carrier and was picked up by a leakster, @Cozyplanes on Twitter. It bears the model number LM-RN910N whereas the unlocked version has the model number – OMD-LM-R910N.

Explaining how the rolling mechanism works, the tipster says the device will be expandable from both sides by up to 100%. The company is also making sure the extended display is protected by using a flexible frame. This frame would retract when the display is collapsed and stretch when it’s expanded. In addition, it will have a lock to prevent the unwanted expansion of the display and to avoid fast scrolling which would cause wrinkles on the screen.
According to a few leaks, the device will have a 7.4-inch screen. It can be rolled to fit into different aspect ratios to cater to different needs. These include an expanded 20:9 aspect ratio with a resolution of 2428×1080 pixels, a video mode with 16:9 aspect ratio resulting in 2428×1366 pixels and finally a 3:2 aspect ratio productivity mode with 2428×1600 pixels resolution.
Speaking of the other specifications the upcoming LG Rollable smartphone is expected to be powered by the latest Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 SoC paired with 16GB of RAM. It will be backed by a 4,200 mAh battery.
