The South Korean electronics giant Samsung has implemented two new security features for the Samsung Galaxy devices. The company has added Quick Share Private Sharing and Samsung Cloud Enhanced Data Protection. So let’s get into the article to check out the full details of the new features.
Quick Share Private Sharing
This particular feature is a built-in “privacy-preserving file-sharing function” and the same will enable you to share your data without any tension. As it will not end up online or it can’t be visible to anyone other than those you intended. The feature will enable you to set permissions along with expiry date for that particular data. Moreover, the feature will also allow you to give read-only access without the ability to re-share, revoke the data access whenever they like, restrict screenshotting, and see when the recipient received and opened the file. You can be able to send up to 20 files with a total size of up to 200MB in one shot. It is said that the company is using blockchain-based encryption technology for this particular feature.
You can be able to use this particular feature by selecting file > Quick Share > Three dots (more options) > Turn on Private sharing. After sending the message, you can be able to check what you have sent and you can also change the expiry date as well as revoke sharing permissions.
Samsung Cloud Enhanced Data Protection
This gives more protection to your data which are secured in the Samsung Cloud and the feature will be available on the Samsung Galaxy S24 in the starting, it is actually offering an extra layer of protection for Galaxy devices when the user data is synced or backed up with Samsung Cloud. When you activate this particular feature, you need to write down a recovery code and the same will help you from data loss when the device is stolen or damaged. You can activate this particular feature by entering into the Samsung Cloud > Three dots (more options) > Settings > Enhanced data protection.
