Every year after the launch of Galaxy S series, many consumers in USA waits for the active version of that S model. The active series is a special series by Samsung in which they make rugged phones with the specs of Galaxy S. This year also Samsung will release the Galaxy S8 active, not S8 Plus Active as Samsung always make the active version of the smaller variant of Galaxy S series. Now today the Galaxy S8 Active is spotted on benchmarking site GFXBench. So let’s have a look at the specs of Galaxy S8 Active..
.
As you can see from the image below, most of the internals are same as regular Galaxy S8. Only difference between S8 Active and regular S8 is the display size, the regular Galaxy S8 has a 5.7” Quad HD+ display whereas the Galaxy S8 Active has a smaller 5.4” Quad HD+ display. Rest of the specs are same as regular Galaxy S8 like Snapdragon 835 processor, Adreno 540 GPU, 4GB RAM and 64GB internal storage, 12MP Dual Pixel Rear Camera along with 8MP Front Camera. Interestingly the Rear Camera can shoot videos only upto 1080p , not at 2K or 4K. It will also run on same Android 7.0 nougat out of the box with Samsung’s experience UI on top. It has all basic sensors excluding altimeter, heart rate and thermometer.
So that’s all the information we have as you know. Personally speaking I wish that this phone should launch globally at all major markets, so that the user can use the rugged phone along with flagship specs as well as performance. Stay tuned with us for more information.
