Soon WhatsApp Will Introduce ‘Mark As Read’ Button

The world’s most favourite instant messaging application WhatsApp started testing a new feature called ‘Suspicious Link Detection‘, which will help to reduce spreading fake information through that platform. Well, now it seems that the company taking the responsibility very seriously. As a new report says that the company is working on a new feature which will be called ‘Mark as Read’ and it will help users to mark unread messages as read directly from the notification panel.

The folks at WABetaInfo tipped that developers of the WhatsApp are working on ‘Mark as Read’ feature, its actually a button which will appear with WhatsApp messages and next to the ‘Reply To’ button in notification. The feature is currently testing in the beta version of 2.18.214 on Android.

Having said that, the feature will not appear to you even if you are using the same beta version because the feature is in the development stage and the company will enable it from its server. Moreover, the source also claims that the company is testing another feature which will allow users to mute messages directly from the notification.

The company is testing many features to prevent spreading of the fake and unwanted messages on the platform like ‘forwarded label‘ and giving more controls in groups. It is really great to see that the company coming forward to stop these activities.
