A couple of months ago, we updated that the RBI is working on a new payment setup that will enable the feature phone users to make digital payments via UPI and now it has been announced officially in the country.
The latest UPI 123Pay has been announced in India and that will enable feature phone users to make digital payments. There is no need for an internet connection as well that feature phone users can able to make payments via their phone without any trouble.
All the features of UPI will be available on the feature phones but there will be no Scan and Pay feature available. Users are required to link the bank account for the digital payment setup.
It is a really great initiative by the government and the same will definitely boost the UPI payment scenario in the country.
