The fingerprint lock feature is not a new thing for the WhatsApp users of iOS, but it is something new for Android users. As till now, the developers of the world’s most favourite instant messaging application Limited the feature with the iOS users. However, today the company has introduced the feature on the beta builds of the messenger.
WhatsApp beta brings the ability of a fingerprint lock in the latest version 2.19.221 and this will allow users to add an additional layer of security and the stay without any tension of their personal conversation while the device is in the third-party’s hand. If you are on the latest version of Beta builds, you will not get access to the feature, because it is disabled by default. You need to enable the option by heading into the settings of the application.
How to enable Fingerprint lock in WhatsApp on Android
- Under the Settings menu, tap Account
- Then go to Privacy and select Fingerprint Lock
- Enable the ‘Unlock with Fingerprint’ option
- Select from any three options — immediately, after 1 minute, and after 30 minutes
The time interval with allow you to use your own preference and if you choose the immediately option then you need to unlock the application with your fingerprint every time. It is worth to mention that this feature will only available to the devices which have the option of a fingerprint scanner.
