WhatsApp on Tuesday announced the Archived Chats settings that will allow customer to keep their archived chats muted even when they receive a new message in an archived message thread.This means that all archived chats will stay tucked away permanently unless choose to manually unarchive them.
This change was initially given to some iPhone users last week and now extends to Android and iOS. Make sure you have the latest version of the app on your device to experience the update. The latest update aims to give users more control over their inbox and stay on top of their most important chats.
previous to the update, if the user received a new message on that thread, the archived individual and group chat threads in WhatsApp would be disabled. However, WhatsApp has reported that many of its users have reported that they want to archive archived messages and keep archived chats away from regular messages in the folder.Therefore, it has brought the change to its Archived Chats settings.
If the user does not want to appear in your main chat list, the new settings allow you to store all non-essential conversations.The user wants to add personal and group chats that not need to the list. By default, WhatsApp keeps your archived chats separate even if they receive any new messages. However, the user can disable the new settings by disabling the chat option archived chat option from the chat settings menu in the app.
If customer not mentioned or answered, the customer will not receive any notifications for the messages you receive in the archived chat threads.
WhatsApp seems to have tried the new experience at least since April 2019, which was initially brought to some iPhone users last week with an update. However, this confirms to Gadgets 360 that the new archived chat settings now extend to all devices.
Last year Whatsapp was expanded to permanently mute chat alerts with the always muted setting.However, the latest update goes beyond silencing some chats and keeps them out of your sight.Users can, however, browse through them from the Archived Chats folder.
