Xiaomi cuts down the gap with Samsung in India

In India majority people uses Smartphone, and we already got to know that India is now the second largest Smartphone market. In the country, Samsung had a big reputation, as many people go behind the brand Samsung even without bothering about the specification of the device. But the situation has changed, as a new report says that Xiaomi has cut down the gap with Samsung in the Indian market.

Xiaomi debuted in India in 2014, and now the company has increased its market share in the Indian market in the third quarter of the year. And more importantly, the Chinese makers succeed to eliminate the gap with Samsung. According to Counterpoint, Xiaomi now has 22% market share in the country in Q3, which is 6% up in the same period of last year. On the other hand, Samsung remained at the same position and the company is just 1% ahead than the Xiaomi. As Samsung now has 23% market share.

Now when we calculate, both the companies accounted 45% market share in the country. They were followed by the manufacturer such as Vivo 9%, Oppo 8%, and Lenovo 7%. Another thing we can notice, that the Chinese makers are now dominating the Indian mobile market.

The report also says that the Smartphone shipment in India is increased and the demand for the affordable smartphones has also raised. Which gives the Xiaomi an upper hand with its two strong devices called Redmi Note 4 and Redmi 4, which are the most sold devices in Q3.

So, the data shows the real fact of the changing trends in the country. Samsung really needs to change their tactics to stay alive in the market, otherwise, we may see something new in the top of the table in next data update.
