Key Points:
- Render of a mysterious Xiaomi smartphone appears online.
- It is having pop-up camera mechanism.
- The company has actually filed a patent for the same.
A couple of years ago, the popular smartphone brands started to offer their devices with a pop-up camera mechanism and the trend started with the Vivo Nex phone and then it was followed by other brands. However, the pop-up camera mechanism suddenly stopped which made me surprised because it was one of my personal favourite features and the same was very innovative as well. The pop-up camera mechanism brings out the front-facing camera from inside the phone and the same will be popping-up from the top of the device when you open the camera application. This particular mechanism is also enabling the full screen experience as there will be no cutout on the top of the screen and that will enable you to enjoy videos and other content on the screen without any restrictions.
After that, brands started to use punch-hole, then Apple introduced the Dynamic Island feature which is now slowly expanding to other smartphone brands in different names. However, now it seems that the Chinese electronics giant Xiaomi is in the mood to bring back the pop-up camera mechanism.
It is reported that Xiaomi has filed a patent for the same and it is based on their “Hidden Electronic Device and Hidden Camera” patent. The new setup will be reducing space occupation and the same will be offering a thinner and lighter device compared to previous pop-up front camera models.
The patent granted by the National Intellectual Property Administration confirms the inclusion of a housing, camera module, and retractable reflective component.
