Fast charging is one of the most important needs in Smartphones and we have plenty of options for that by various brands such as Oppo, Vivo, OnePlus, and more. Xiaomi is expected to become the leader as the company unveiled the technology and that will offer 100W. The company teased its charging technology last year but there was no update about the same, however, now the general manager of Redmi has come forward and reveals more details about the same along with its challenges. Most importantly, he suggested that the technology is still far away from reality.
Lu Weibing, Redmi General Manager has shared the details of the futuristic technology on the Chinese microblogging site Weibo, he started by saying the basic stuff, and that’s the faster charging makes the battery capacity loss is greater. And its upcoming 100W fast charging technology will reduce the battery capacity about 20 percent compared to a 30W PD fast charge. Well, that means Xiaomi’s upcoming technology will tone down a 5,000 mAh battery to a 4,000 mAh battery. Moreover, he also said that the company needs to develop an ultra-high voltage charging scheme.
He also maintained a few other challenges which the company tried to address the long and sustainable charging requirements. That’s not all, the company is also focusing on the multiple protections for various areas such as motherboard, battery, and charge to prevent any mishaps. Xiaomi is also planning to implement different charging setups like wired charging, wireless charging, and even charger compatibility for its 100W fast charging solution.
So, let’s wait for more details in the coming days and we believe that the company can able to find all the answers very soon and implement the new charging technology in the near future. Xiaomi’s technology will definitely help as the entire world adopting that particular network and it requires more energy than its predecessor.
