The newly announced open-sourcing of Xiaomi Vela follows the Apache 2.0 open source license and the same will enable developers worldwide to leverage and contribute to this innovative IoT embedded software platform.
Built on the open-source real-time operating system NuttX, and the new Xiaomi Vela provides unified software services across various IoT hardware platforms as well. It is worth mentioning that the latest Xiaomi Vela features lower system resource requirements compared to Linux while delivering similar functionalities and performance.
It will also enable developers to reduce hardware costs and improved overall product cost performance. With its compatibility through the POSIX interface, existing open-source libraries and components on the Linux platform can be seamlessly ported to Xiaomi Vela.
