Last week, we updated that the Chinese electronics giant Xiaomi is all set to host the Supplier Investment Summit in India, and today the Summit has started and it will continue to April 11th. Well, in this Summit the company will host 50 component suppliers and if all the suppliers come forward to invest in the country. Then India will get a whopping ₹15,000 crores of investment. And today during the submit the company has announced its local manufacturing of PCBA in the country and they also announce three new smartphone manufacturing plants.
The Printed Circuit Board Assembly (PCBA) is one of the most important components in a smartphone. And now the PCBA will be manufactured at Xiaomi’s first SMT (Surface Mount Technology) plant which is built in partnership with Foxconn in Sriperumbudur, which is located in Tamil Nadu. Moreover, Xiaomi expects to increase the production of the PCBA to around 100% of its locally produced devices within the Q3 of this year.

Apart from this, the company has also announced three new smartphone plants in the country. And all the three new smartphone plants will be built in the partnership with Foxconn and they are located in Sri City, Andhra Pradesh and Sriperumbudur, Tamil Nadu, with a total area of a huge 180 acres.

With this, the company says that they can able to increase their production capacity by two smartphones per second and the company will also employ 10,000 people in all the three new manufacturing plants and more than 95% workers will be women to do the assembling work.
Having said that, the company has also said that they will start manufacturing smartphones at the Noida plant which is located in the Uttar Pradesh. Where the company produces Power Banks, and this will result in a total of 6 smartphone plants of the company in the country, which is really a great achievement.
