Just a couple of hours ago, the Chinese smartphone brand Oppo unveiled new fingerprint scanner technology along with its latest 10x hybrid optical zoom technology. Well, now another Chinese smartphone brand teases a new in-display fingerprint sensor for the smartphones and that is none other Xiaomi. Everything about the new in-display fingerprint sensor of Xiaomi
Xiaomi’s Co-Founder and President Lin Bin teased their own next-generation in-display fingerprint sensor on Chinese social networking website Weibo. With the new in-display fingerprint sensor, Xiaomi wants to solve two problems of a user which they have with the current setup of in-display fingerprint sensors. The first one is the lack of one tap unlocking, which means currently the in-display scanner smartphones have to double tap to wake up the screen, and then you can the device by touching the sensor. But with the new technology of Xiaomi users can able to get into the device with one tap.
The second innovation of this technology is to give a more active area, which means in the company’s new in-display fingerprint sensor will increase the active area and the company says that the total active sensor area is 25 mm x 50.2 mm and that will cover a very good portion of the screen and that will make easy to unlock the device by touching anywhere on the screen.
