We are getting many leaks of Mi Max 2, Xiaomi’s Phablet phone. Recently Xiaomi announced the launch date of Mi Max 2 and now today Xiaomi officially unveiled the Mi Max 2 in China. There are many changes in the internals as well as some changes are made on built as well. So what’s inside this Mi Max 2? Let’s find out.
As you can see from the image above, the built looks very similar to the previous Mi Max, but if you notice there’s no black bezels around the display to show it more bezel-less. Otherwise the looks are very similar to the typical Xiaomi phones. This phone comes in 2 different variants ; 64GB & 128GB. Both variants comes with 4GB of RAM. Also both variants don’t have Micro SD card slot.
This Mi Max 2 sports a 6.44” Full HD Display with 342 pixels per inch (PPI). It comes with Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 625 octa core processor that’s clocked at 2.2Ghz built on 14nm process with Adreno 506 GPU. Xiaomi is doing the same thing with Mi Max 2 which they did with Redmi Note 4, downgrading from Snapdragon 65x to Snapdragon 625. Also we expected that it will come with Snapdragon 626, 630 or 660. Talking about the camera it has 12MP Sony IMX386 Rear Camera with PDAF & 1.25 micron pixels for better low light photos. On the front it has 5MP Camera with wide angle lens. It packs a mammoth 5300mah battery without compromising on the thickness. There’s support for Qualcomm’s Quick Charge 3.0 as well. It runs on Android 7.1.1 nougat with Xiaomi’s MIUI on top. It also has Duap Stereo Speakers on the front, fingerprint sensor on the back, and IR blaster on the back.
The pricing of both variants:
• 1699 Yuan ($247, Rs.16,000) for 64GB Variant.
• 1999 Yuan ($291, Rs.18,800) for 128GB Variant.
As of now Xiaomi only announced this phone in Gold colour. But we are expecting at least grey colour in near future. It’s only available in China as of now but it will come to other markets soon. We are expecting this phone to launch at India in July or September, as Xiaomi is launching their phones in India the time intervals of every 2 months.
