Software support is one important thing for all platforms like smartphones, PCs, etc. which is necessary for all latest devices. Well if we talk about smartphone, Lenovo’s image is not at all good in terms of software updates. They usually gives only 1 major update even to their flagships like Lenovo Z2 Plus. They also gives the update after taking a lot of time. Now today Lenovo has released a chart which reveals the devices which are NOT getting the nougat update. So let’s see which are those devices.
Well it’s a sad news for all those who use any Lenovo Phab series phone, as no Phab series phone is going to get the nougat update. This list even includes the Lenovo Phab 2 Pro, the 1st ever Tango enabled smartphone. Now this is really not a good thing as this phone is said to be a future-proof phone due to the Project Tango. It also seems like this Tango phone is not making up a good sales, die to which Lenovo is not giving the software support as well as there’s not even a single leak or rumour for the successor of this Phab 2 Pro. Below is the full list of those Lenovo devices who are not getting nougat update :
So that’s all the information we have as of now. Personally speaking OEMs should guarantee at least one major update apart from the version which came out of the box. As consumers spend their hard-earned money to buy these smartphones and expect to use it for 1.5-2 years. What are your thoughts on this ?
