They are the 1st OEM after Google who provided Android 7.1.1 nougat. All OnePlus users know that they have there Open Beta program for tech savvy people. Now yesterday they announced a new Open Beta for OnePlus 3 and 3T. So what’s new in this update? Let’s find out.
As you can see from the image below, this update includes several new features on OnePlus 3 and 3T. The 1st new feature is the new launcher UI. Now the OnePlus launcher looks exactly like Pixel launcher. From home screen to app drawer, everything is same as Pixel launcher. Now OnePlus has added an internet speed indicator on the notification which shows the real-time download and upload speed. For gamers there’s a gaming DND mode which blocks the notifications while playing game, and also it can disable the touch on capacitive buttons for without disturbing gameplay. Now the automatic night mode is also there which turns on & off the night mode based on selected time. Secure box is also added in file manager to lock some private files. Also for units in India, they have added a quick pay option as well.
So these are the new features, now let’s talk about the improvements that came with this update. 1st major improvement is the touch latency issue. Now this touch latency issue is solved on both phones. Many users complained about this in earlier updates but now it’s solved. The EIS in rear camera is also improved for better photos & videos. Another improvement is in the contact management. And as usual ‘Some General bug fixes’ is also there.
This update is sized at 138MB and you can download it from the source given for OnePlus 3 and OnePlus 3T below. For those who are on stable update, if there’s no issue in this update then you will get all these features in the stable OTA update on or before the end of April.
