As it’s more than a year now Qualcomm released its Quick Charge 3.0, Now it’s time for the Quick Charge 4.0, & here we have a leak of the same. Rumors are there that a whopping 28W power will be supplied from Quick Charge 4.0 to the phones which supports this technology. Previous Quick Charge 3.0 releases 18W power.

Quick Charge 4.0 can output current either at 5V (4.7A to 5.6A) or 9V (at 3A). Maybe there will be no 12V or 20V output, & that will be good as higher voltage transfer heats up lithium ion batteries a lot. Take the example of OnePlus 3’s dash charging, which has low voltage output of 5V only but higher current of 4A. It charges the OnePlus 3 fast than all phones having 3000mah battery or similar phones with Quick charge 3.0 with very less amount of heat. Quick Charge 4.0 may have INOV (Intelligent Negotiation of Optimum Voltage) which can release better voltage to the batteries.
Quick Charge 4.0 may launch in Q1 2017. Maybe snapdragon 830 processor will be the first one to feature this technology. So we can see this technology with Samsung Galaxy S8 as Galaxy S8 is rumored to have Snapdragon 830 processor.
