Last week Qualcomm was sending invites for the launch of there next mid-range processor i.e. Snapdragon 660. Now today they launched it along with another mid-range processor, Snapdragon 630. So what’s inside both the processors ? Let’s find out..
The Snapdragon 660 is the successor of last year’s Snapdragon 653 (most powerful mid-range processor) whereas Snapdragon 630 is the successor of last year’s Snapdragon 625 (most power efficient mid-range processor). Interestingly now both SD-660 & SD-630 are built on 14nm FinFET manufacturing process, that means both will be power efficient. Regarding SD-660 they used 14nm process because of the overheating issues of SD-653.
1st let’s talk about Snapdragon 660. It brings 20% improvements over Snapdragon 653. This is the 1st 600 series processor which uses the Kryo architecture instead of ARM architecture. It has Kryo 260 which is an octa core SoC divided into two cores. 1st four performance cores are clocked at 2.2Ghz while the other four power efficient cores are clocked at 1.8Ghz . SD-660 has Adreno 512 GPU which brings 30% improvement over the previous Adreno 510 GPU. This processor has improved X12 LTE modem, Bluetooth 5 and quick charge 4.0 support, USB Type-C 3.1, Spectra 160 ISO with EIS 3.0 which helps in camera stabilization and image processing as well.
Now let’s talk about Snapdragon 630. Though this is less powerful processor than SD-660, but a good improvement over SD-625. This Processor is based on octa core ARM Cortex A-53 architecture that’s clocked at 2.2GHz . But as this is built on 14nm process which is exactly same as SD-625, you will barely notice any difference in efficiency. It has Adreno 508 GPU which gives 30% improvement over the previous Adreno 506 GPU. This processor now have X12 LTE modem, Bluetooth 5 and quick charge 4.0 support, USB Type-C 3.1 and Spectra 160 which improves image processing.
So these are the specs of both new processors. Only time will tell us how powerful and power efficient are these processors. Snapdragon 660 is available to all smartphone OEMs now and Snapdragon 630 will be available from end of May. So we can see both processors in smartphones from 3rd Quarter of this year. Stay tuned with us for more information.

Hi this is kinda of off topic but I was wondering if blogs use
WYSIWYG editors or if you have to manually code with HTML.
I’m starting a blog soon but have no coding knowledge so I
wanted to get advice from someone with experience.
Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Hi there outstanding website! Does running a blog such as this require a large amount of work?
I have virtually no knowledge of coding however I was hoping to start my
own blog in the near future. Anyway, if you have any recommendations or tips for new blog owners please share.
I know this is off topic however I just wanted to ask.
Appreciate it!
