Google has now enabled support for 4K (3840 x 2160) HDR content videos on Google play movies app. Not to mention, that Google had already enabled support for non-HDR 4K content last year. This move is an expected one though, fans welcome this with both hands.

First off not all movies are supported for the catches but as time goes this list will keep growing and 4K HDR content will keep growing. But you will obviously need an HDR enabled phone to make use of this feature and but of course you can always use Chromecast Ultra dongle and cast your screen with your 4K monitor.Right now, two studios Sony and Warner Bros are supporting the feature rollout. Titles available are Kong: Skull Island, Mad Max: Fury Road, Suicide Squad and The Lego Movie. Additionally, you can search the app by typing ‘HDR movies’ because Google isn’t in the mood of giving you a list.
