Microsoft has stopped the ability of purchasing type credit and phone numbers and this is a significant change on the platform. Microsoft has opted for a monthly subscription plans strategy on the board and it is for both regional and global calling services.
Having said that, Microsoft did not announce the news strategy shift and users have discovered the new change via a Microsoft forum. It is good to know that existing users of Skype phone numbers can be able to continue the functionality and those who have purchased the Skype credits previously, can be able to use them.
However, it is important to remember that you need to use your Skype credit at least once every 180 days to keep them active.
