Hisense will be the first TV brand to be introduced with the newly announced Dolby Vision 2. Its premium RGB-MiniLED televisions are powered by the MediaTek Pentonic 800 chip with MiraVision Pro PQ Engine. CANAL+, the French media and entertainment company, will be the first broadcaster to confirm support Dolby Vision 2 to its movies, series, and live sports.
Dolby Vision 2 builds on today’s brighter and more colorful TVs while giving creators more control over brightness, contrast, and color accuracy. The new Dolby Image Engine works with a wide range of content including films, TV shows, weekly live sports, and games.
It also comes with content intelligence including Precision Black for clearer dark scenes, Light Sense to fine-tune brightness and color, Sports and Gaming Optimization with motion control and white point adjustments for live sports and interactive content.
The new Dolby Vision 2 adds bi-directional tone mapping, giving creators more flexibility to use the full brightness and color range of high-performance TVs. It is also introducing Authentic Motion, a creative-driven motion control tool that reduces judder on a shot-by-shot basis. Dolby Vision 2 Max will provide the highest performance for flagship TVs with extra premium features.
