Honor has officially confirmed that the upcoming Magic 8 RSR Porsche Design will be announced in China on January 19 along with the Honor Magic 8 Pro Air. Today the company has confirmed to the chipset and memory information of the former device. It is officially announced that the upcoming Honor Magic 8 RSR will be announced with the power of the latest and greatest Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 mobile processor along with 24GB of LPDDR5X RAM, and this confirmation makes the upcoming device the only confirmed flagship smartphone in 2026 to offer such a monster configuration.
The upcoming device will be available with multiple storage options including 16GB RAM with 512GB storage and 24GB RAM with 1TB storage options, both using UFS 4.1 storage. So the experience with the device will be very smooth and it will be capable for the advanced AI capabilities.
Based on the previous reports, the upcoming Honor Magic 8 RSR will be coming with a 6.71-inch LTPO OLED micro-quad-curved display with a 1.5K resolution, 120Hz refresh rate, and peak brightness reaching 6000 nits. It will feature a 50-megapixel main sensor with OIS, a 50-megapixel ultra-wide macro camera, and a 200-megapixel telephoto sensor with OIS. A 50-megapixel front camera is paired with a 3D depth sensor. The device will be running on the Android 16 operating system along with a 7,200mAh battery with 120W wired and 80W wireless charging.
The upcoming device will also come with features including an ultrasonic fingerprint scanning along with 3D face recognition, end the device will also support satellite connectivity. The device will be supporting stereo speakers and IP68, IP69, and IP69K ratings.
