The Mountain View company Google is reportedly updating the design of its entire app icons. The source says that the company will be taking the gradient approach. So let’s get into the article to check out the complete details.
According to sources familiar with the matter, all Google Workspace apps are getting a big design upgrade. The company will be using the gradient effect in the Google ‘G,’ Gemini, Home, Photos, and Maps.
The Google Drive is said to come without red, and it will come with just the classic green, yellow, and blue that match the three editor apps. The exterior of the icon will be a very rounded triangle that almost feels bulbous, and it will be feeling like a sharp one at the center.
While the icons of the Google Docs, Sheets, Slides remain a vertical piece of paper, but Sheets and Slides switch to landscape. The Google Meet and Chat now has a yellow colour as the predominant colour and Google Chat sees the same overhaul with a pill-shaped message bubble.
Talking about Gmail, the ‘M’ envelope shape will be similar to the current version but there will be a little bit more rounded. The red colour is the predominant, with only a little bit of yellow, green, and blue colours.
Google is adopting the older icon design for Google Calendar with a skeuomorphic reference to the flip-style object. The company will be offering the classic blue colour. The Google Tasks has a blue colour as the primary colour option and it will also feature a checkmark for Tasks.
The Google Keep application is also updated and the company has eliminated the page background to focus on the light bulb, while the Google Voice is keeping the same shape as before, and the company has made it round. The Google Forms and Sites come with purple colour as primary colour option and the icon drops the paper motif for multiple choice bubbles. Having said that, Sites switches from a dark blue to a lighter one.
