The very popular financial institution HDFC Bank has officially introduced a new OTP system for senior citizens of the country. The company has implemented a new “Double OTP System” feature and it is available in selected regions only. We believe that HDFC Bank will expand the availability of the feature in more parts of the country. So let’s get into the article to check out the details.
HDFC Bank has introduced the new double OTP system for the senior citizens of the country, and the new feature is currently available for HDFC Bank account holders aged 60 years and above in the Gurugram and Panchkula areas.
The latest feature will give an extra layer of security for senior citizens. The senior citizens of the above-mentioned regions will now be able to add a second trusted phone number, which could belong to a family member as well.
Now let’s talk about how this feature works. We know that only the account holder is used to receive the OTP on their registered device. But with the latest feature, both the registered device and the added trusted number will receive the OTP during an online transaction. To complete the transaction, the user needs to enter both OTPs.
So this will help senior citizens to protect themselves from cyber fraud. Do let us know your thoughts about the new security feature in the comments section below.
