The Taiwan-based company Asus has officially launched the new router dubbed the Asus ROG Rapture GT-BN98 Pro, and it is said to be the world’s first Wi-Fi 8 gaming router. So let’s get into the article to check out the details.
It is announced that the newly announced gaming router of Asus is designed around the upcoming Wi-Fi 8 standard, also known as IEEE 802.11bn. It is worth mentioning that the Wi-Fi 8 hasn’t been finalized yet but Asus says the latest gaming router can offer up to twice the throughput and twice the IoT coverage of previous-generation models.
It also comes with the Republic of Gamers branding and the device also features “AI Game Boost,” a three-level acceleration system that offers importance on gaming traffic from the device all the way to the game server.
The gaming router also supports dual 10GbE ports with link aggregation support, four 2.5GbE ports, and one additional 1GbE port. The device also features a dedicated 10G gaming port that automatically prioritizes gaming traffic without requiring manual setup. The device also features one 5Gbps USB port and another USB 2.0 port.
It is also confirmed to feature a thicker aluminum top plate along with an upgraded nanocarbon coating and a redesigned airflow system. The gaming router also comes with software features including upgraded AiProtection security tools, VLAN controls, guest networks for IoT and kids’ devices, VPN support, and real-time Wi-Fi interference monitoring.
