The Chinese brand SmartSens has officially launched a new 200 megapixel camera sensor and the company has dubbed the sensor the SCC62HS. It is also confirmed that the mass production of the sensor will start in the third quarter of this year.

The newly announced SmartSens SCC62HS is the first 200-megapixel image sensor by the company and it comes with a 55nm Stacked BSI manufacturing process and features 0.5μm pixels within a 1/1.55-inch optical format. It is said to keep fine details in scenes ranging from landscapes to group shots.
It is also integrated with technologies including PixGain HDR, SFCPixel and AllPix ADAF. The company says that this will offer higher dynamic range, reduced noise levels and faster focusing performance. The newly announced camera sensor supports image output at up to 200 megapixels and it is capable of capturing ultra-high-resolution content while maintaining detailed image quality.
The sensor also features PixGain HDR technology which can offer a dynamic range of up to 86.3dB while reducing motion-related artefacts. The latest camera sensor also supports on-chip dual-frame fusion. It is also compatible with Staggered HDR and NDOL HDR modes, which add further flexibility for different shooting scenarios.
It also said to come with a sensitivity rating of 3574mV/lux*s and a read noise level as low as 0.92e-. The camera sensor can also feature both AllPix ADAF and Sparse PDAF autofocus systems.
