The very popular telecom company Vodafone Idea has collaborated with Meta for a new initiative that will make sign-up, login, authentication, and account recovery faster, safer, and more seamless. The initiative is for Vi users, and it is dubbed Silent Mobile Verification (SMV) capabilities across Meta platforms including WhatsApp, Facebook, and Instagram.

It is actually a secured network-based authentication technology and the same will verify a user’s mobile number in the background without requiring manual entry of verification credentials, switching between apps or waiting for verification messages.
When a Vi user accesses the popular social media applications like WhatsApp, Facebook and Instagram on the Vodafone Idea mobile network, the verification request is validated through the telecom network itself and it will be offering a faster as well as frictionless experience.
Vodafone Idea has also said that users may experience SMV-supported journeys across scenarios like new user registration, mobile number verification, login and re-login, account recovery, and authentication during security checks.
