Meta recently introduced the new AI model dubbed Muse AI and it is capable to use your public content on Instagram to generate AI images by simply @ mentioning your account without your consent.
The particular feature is enabled by default for adult public accounts (currently rolling out in the US), and the feature will not notify you about the usage of your content by someone else.
It is a massive privacy threat, and if you don’t want this to happen, then you need to disable the feature. You can disable the feature by opening Instagram and visiting your profile. You need to touch the three lines at the top right corner of the screen to access Settings & activity.
Now you need to scroll down and find out the option dubbed Sharing and reuse and this is the option which you need to disable. Simply turn OFF Posts and Reels under “Allow people to use your content on Instagram and with AI features at Meta.
Having said that, turning this off also disables features like Remixes, and it won’t remove AI images that were already created before you opted out.
